Update 1.2 Coming Soon!

A huge thank you to everyone who played my Beeknighted64 game jam demo! It was an absolute blast learning the basics of Blender and Godot for the 32bit Game Jam and now it's time to get working on polishing up the project and turning it into an actual game!

A lot of things were thrown together as fast as possible for the game jam and some of them need major reworking. Please bear with me if content updates are somewhat slow, but once the overall presentation of the game is in better shape, I should be able to add more content much quicker. The first update is nearly ready, and should launch this weekend or early next week. Here some things that will be coming in update 1.2:

NEW CONTENT:

* New rooms to explore in the caves under Antfort filled with hazards

* Health indicator

* Breakable objects to slash with your grass blade

BUG FIXES:

* fixing a bug where when running down a slope and attempting to fly, the character will fly downward instead

* fixing a bug where the character will launch forward upon landing after flying

* fixing attack combo timings

IMPROVEMENTS:

* adding randomized sound effects to all character movements, footsteps, wing sounds, attacks, jumps, dashes, falls, and injuries

* fixing the camera orientation

* adding precision stopping when not pressing a direction (instant deceleration)

* options menu on the title screen with fullscreen/windowed toggle

* pause game with escape/start button and recapture mouse on unpause

* scene transitions

* looping music across areas (oops)

Planned for update 1.3:

NEW CONTENT:

* Beginnings of a combat system and enemies to fight

* Treasure chests filled with goodies

* Health Upgrades

* Pause menu and inventory screen

IMPROVEMENTS:

* Better title menu

* Finalized music

* A drop shadow under the character to gauge glides better

Bug fixes as necessary.

WHERE ARE WE GOING?

My plan for the finished game/demo is to have a completed introductory area (the caves) and a dungeon (the bugbear-ant fortress) complete with puzzles, stealth, a miniboss, and a challenging final showdown. Some plans may change along the way, but the goal is to have the game in a playable state by the end of November. If, at that time, there is enough interest, and I feel competent enough to take on a longer game, I will consider expanding the game into a full release with multiple dungeons, new weapons, abilities, etc.  Please look forward to future updates!
