Antfort Progress Update Towards v.2.3


Hey everyone!

It's been a while since I've updated the game publicly because I've been hard at work on the Antfort dungeon proper. I expect the full dungeon to be finished sometime next week, after which I'll announce the update. However, I felt it important to break the silence and give a few previews of what is to come.


Antfort introduces new mechanics, enemies, npcs, a new weapon, a miniboss and boss fight proper, so there's been a lot of modeling, drawing, animating, prototyping, coding, etc. that has been going on behind the scenes. 

If you played the early prototype, you probably saw the bugbear ant "brute bracers," the boxing gloves weapons which the bee could wield in the testing room, but have been inaccessible since. They will be acquirable in Antfort in the near future, and give you the ability to damage foes invulnerable to the sword or blast pods, as well as allow you to push and break heavier objects.

Antfort will also be the player's formal introduction to basic stealth mechanics, as the hostile ants will throw the bee out on sight. 


Some of you might have asked why the bee travels through the dangerous tunnels instead of just flying out of the pit. The answer is also present in Antfort: the pounding rain is just as dangerous, and unpredictably violent. The bee will have to dart in and out of safe overhangs to avoid being pummeled by the elements.
